Resumé Workshop

FALL 2020

Resumé Workshop

With the help of the SFU Career and Volunteer Services’ Career Peers, the SHLUB conjointly hosted our graduate school resumé workshop. We spoke at length about the different ways of formatting your resumé and the information to include to ensure your resumé shines when you add it to your applications. Review our notes about the event to learn some key strategies.

Take note that the Career Peers are geared more job-oriented resumés compared to graduate school resumés. However, almost all of the same strategies still apply. In fact, there are only three minor differences between the two:
• The research (on the school and program rather than a company)
• The focus (emphasis on education)
• The use of references (not required since you’re already supplying letters of recommendation)
